Entry #10: The best "party school"

Arizona State University has been known as a party school for years. It’s probably the first thing many people think about when they hear “ASU.” This has made a lot of future college students not take them seriously and not want to attend there. What many people don’t realize is that ASU is more than just their reputation; they are actually a pretty good college and here I’ll explain why.

First of all, if you live in Arizona, you might have seen advertisements all over the state about how ASU is ranked #1 for innovation. According to HELLOUNIThe institution is renowned for research, industry connections, and forward-thinking programs.” This explains that ASU is heavily focused on creating the best and top education for their students. They are also ranked #1 for a lot of things such as the #1 college in the United States for international students, sustainable practices, international trade and more! They have a wide variety of undergraduate and graduates' degrees you can choose from.

Another thing that makes ASU a great college is how many campuses they have. They have a total of 4 campuses in Tempe (which is their main one), West Valley, Downtown Phoenix and Polytechnic. With a wide range of locations, you can choose which campus fits you the best! Not only that, but they also have shuttle buses where you can go from one campus to another if that's what you prefer.

ASU is one of the best colleges for employment. According to UniApplyNowYou’ll be surrounded by tech, healthcare, aerospace, and finance companies that are actively hiring. Career fairs, co-ops, and part-time roles are close by, giving you a chance to gain experience while you study. Many ASU students even land full-time jobs before graduation.” How awesome! With how tough the job market is these days, this gives me comfort in knowing that ASU has a great support system and has many opportunities that can help me get hired after graduation

Overall, ASU is more than what people label a “party school. From being ranked high in many areas to offering the best academic programs, real opportunities, helpful resources, and a positive environment that supports students successtheir strengths clearly outweighs their outdated label. I know for sure that this is the University I am going to transfer to! What about you? What college do you plan on transferring to?

  1. Hi Salina! I do think ASU seems more of a party school, but it's totally awesome you are planning to transfer there. Good luck! I wish to attend NAU for a degree in forensic psychology. They appear to have a great psych program.

  2. I really liked how you explained that ASU is more than just a party school. I didn’t know they had so many rankings or that they offered that many opportunities for jobs after graduation. The different campuses and shuttle system also sound really convenient. This made me see ASU in a more positive way.
