Entry #4: Why Quizlet is the best studying app
Have you ever had a hard time studying and memorizing stuff for your classes? I have too until I started using Quizlet. Quizlet is a online study tool and app that helps students of all ages learn and review class materials through flashcards, quizzes and other games. I first started using it during my sophomore year in high school in my medical science class when my teacher had us use it for group review. Ever since, I started using it for all of my classes and maintained a good GPA because of it.
Studying can be very boring, so this app is a great and fun way to be productive while studying. According to Scholarly, "Quizlet helps students retain and recall information more effectively." They do this through the many study options they offer.
For example, you can use flashcards to memorize your answers. You can read the question on one side of the flashcard and flip to see the answer on the other side. By repeating this, it has helped me to remember the answers and do good on my tests. For example, I was able to do well in my human anatomy class because I remembered the functions of different body parts and systems.
They also have a Learn option where it helps you to remember the terms and answers of your flashcard set over and over again until you get them right. Once you feel more confident, you can switch to the Test mode where Quizlet creates an exam for you. Another option they have is Match where you pair up and match the right terms with the right definitions.
In my opinion, two of the coolest ways Quizlet offers students to study is Blocks and Blast. Blocks is basically the same as the game Block Blast but in this version, you get asked a question and must answer it correctly in order to earn the block pieces. In Blast, you look for the matching term/definition on the floating asteroids and click to blast it. Isn’t that so cool?!
Quizlet also lets you work in groups and improves class participation. Quizlet live is a teamwork game where it assigns you to a group, and you have you work together to pick the right answers. Whichever team has the most amount of right answers wins. That is what I used in my medical science class and other classes! I remember once we started playing this game for review, everyone was so competitive and focused on getting the answers right and winning! According to National Institutes of Health, “Quizlet enhances vocabulary learning achievement, retention, and has small positive effect on learner attitude.”
Overall, Quizlet is a great app to use for studying. Many of us have a hard time paying attention in class and trying to remember what we learn, and Quizlet is what we can use to help with these problems. Before I started using this app, I would just look at my notes and just reread them, but I would forget things really fast. Using this app has not only helped me to do better in my exams but it also made studying more enjoyable. Quizlet is available on phones, laptops, tablets, and computers so you can study anywhere at anytime! If you have never tried Quizlet before, I totally recommend using it because it makes learning so much more entertaining!

Hi Salina! Thank you for recognizing Quizlet!! I too, have been using this app for a long time and find it extremely helpful. I love the different study options it allows you to choose as well. The flashcards work best for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Salina! I really liked your post on Quizlet because I also love to use it for studying for quiz's and tests in school. I love using the flashcards to review and memorize the answers for the questions on my tests. I then go in and use the test option to test myself and see what I know versus what I don't really know. This allows me to see what I need to study more before the test!
